FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What can I expect?

Awakening School of Theology classes follow the basic structure of Dr. Heiser lecturing for one hour followed by 30 minutes of Q & A.  You can expect to spend 3-5 hours per week preparing for the class which includes watching the video lecture. Of course, you can spend many more hours going more in-depth into each week’s topic through the academic articles that are provided in the optional digging deeper section of the course.

The Awakening School of Theology is creating a new academic model that is more focused on learning than it is on grades. There are no written assignments, no grades and no tests. Sometimes the pressure of a grade distracts from learning. Each week you will take two quizzes. One quiz is on the Unseen Realm concepts covered in the readings and lectures. The other quiz is on general bible knowledge. The quizzes are ungraded, and you can take them an unlimited number of times. The quizzes are designed to focus you on the main concepts of each class and give you feedback regarding how well you are mastering those concepts. To receive the School of Theology certificate for the 2-year program, students must complete all of the assigned quizzes by the end of each semester.
